Formation de tartre

Possible causes

You know you have scale in your spa water if you notice the following:

  • pH, total alkalinity or calcium hardness too high. Scale is generally found at the bottom of the spa and in the pipes. It is white and rough to the touch.
  • Do not confuse scale with the waterline ring mark, which is caused by an accumulation of body oils or greasy residue.

Suggested solutions

  • pH, total alkalinity or calcium hardness too high: Maintain pH at 7.2 - 7.8, total alkalinity at 100 - 120 ppm and calcium hardness at 150 - 200 ppm. In addition, add 45 mL of Scale Control for spas per 1,000 L of water to prevent scale formation.
  • Zorbie Sponge absorbs body oils and greasy residue and helps keep the water clear. It is recommended to change the sponge 4 times per year.

Preventive maintenance

  • pH, total alkalinity or calcium hardness too high: Maintain the level of these three parameters and use 25 mL of Scale Control for spas per 1,000 L of water weekly to prevent scale formation.

* In order to maintain sparkling spa water, make sure to have your spa water analyzed regularly by your specialized retailer to adjust and maintain the following parameters: total alkalinity and calcium hardness.
